QUALIFICATIONS: Associate Degree (BSN Preferred) Current Indiana Nursing License CPR Certification Preferred Skill in developing effective communication with students, staff and parents Skills in administrative responsibilities

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES FOR SUBSTITUTE NURSE, LPN OR EMT: Provide general nursing care to students and staff. Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques. Keep daily medical records of students. Communicate with parents/guardians concerning daily health concerns and visits to nurse. Supervise the dispensing of prescriptions to students. Observe patients and report adverse reactgions to medication or treatment. Treat minor wounds and abrasions. Serve as a resource person on health issues. Provide follow-up evaluations on students as required. Administer care including, but not limited to, calculating diabetic formulas; administering insulin; documenting seizure activity; tube feeding administration and care; and being able to identify different childhood illnesses. Inform staff of any health concern that will need additinoal care with the school building but outside the nurse's office. Perform other duties as assigned by the building Principal, Director of Nursing, or Executive
Director of Diversity Student Support Services.
