Secretary/Clerk Elementary 4 hr
WORK YEAR: School Year Position - 10 Days Prior to Organization Day and 5 Days after Faculty Day
CLASSIFICATION: Category I / Class B $12.19 - $16.96/hour
QUALIFICATIONS:
-
High school diploma or equivalent,
-
Internal candidates must have successfully completed Clerical Skills Proficiency test,
-
RDS K-12 Student Management Software and AS400 experience required,
-
Proven organizational skills and ability to demonstrate those skills,
-
Demonstrated ability to work in a positive manner with students, staff and public in stressful situations,
-
Internal candidates must have positive past employment evaluations,
-
Exhibits a pleasant disposition and promotes positive public relations within the school system and school,
-
Successful interview with Building Administrator.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-
Track daily attendance in the K-12 Student Management Software,
-
Keep an accurate record of internal and external student transfers, by complying with corporation and
state rules and send appropriate documentation to transfer schools in a timely manner and request documentation
for incoming transfers,
-
Distribute correspondence to parents regarding corporation rules and guidelines for attendance, residency,
discipline and other monitored student data.

Effectively and pleasantly assist parents, teachers and students at the counter and on the phone,
-
Answer telephones pleasantly and ensure that all callers find the correct information,
-
Assist in sorting and distributing mail,
-
Administer first aid & distribute authorized medication to students in absence of nurse,
-
Execute beginning of the year procedures including: Entering registration data accurately into the K-12 Student
Management System along with establishing course teacher assignments, and homeroom assignments, as
communicated by the principal; loading and maintaining student schedules, printing class lists, and the organization
and maintenance of yellow cumulative folders,
-
Enter all student data, including tagging and maintaining information as required by Indiana State Code for state
reporting including but not limited to: Title I information, additional services provided in Title I, remedial reading
and least restrictive environment, special education, tracking residency leases, addendums, and 3rd party guardianships,
and any other state data requirements,

Organize student recognition programs and create and print certificates for such programs.

Complete clerical work requests by building certified staff,
-
Collect, organize and updating staff and student emergency information and call list,
-
Any other duties assigned by Building Administrator.
